I am a farmer who raise ducks and cows. The animals have a total of 9 heads and 26 feet. How many ducks and cows do I have?
Submitted by The BlueTie.
You have 5 ducks and 4 cows. C'mon, gimme a question that actually requires pencil and paper! 8:-)
What part of your childhood do you miss the most?

Being able to read for hours on end without that niggling feeling that I really should be doing something productive.
How do you travel to and from work - personal vehicle, bus, subway/train, pedal power? What does it cost you per week in gas or fares?
Submitted by Jan.
I walk. It's not far. I open the door from my laundry room, go down two steps, and here I am! Don't even have to venture outside. Costs me absolutely nothing in gas or fares, but that monthly payment on the construction loan is nearly as much as our house payment. Ouch!
What was the best thing about your weekend?
Well, I suppose the PC answer would be going out with Wendi on Saturday evening (we had a great time), but that was only #2. The best thing about the weekend was the major quilting progress I accomplished. I have finally quilted my Hoffman Challenge (which must be finished up, mailed off, and in their possession no later than July 25) and I have the double wedding ring nearly half quilted. I have every intention of getting it done and off the machine today. That means I must go get to work. I will post pictures of both quilts later.
Have you ever broken a bone? If not, what's the worst injury you've sustained?
Yes, I've broken several. The first time was in 7th grade. I went roller skating the Sunday before school got out for summer vacation on Thursday. One skate hit a paper cup someone had thrown out on the floor and down I went. Broke both bones in my lower right arm and double dislocated (When I picked my arm up my hand was still in line with my arm, but the wrist was fully out of line from them) my wrist. I spent about half the summer in a cast up to my shoulder.
When I was a junior in college I fell off of a curb. I didn't actually break anything then but wish I had. Instead I tore the ligaments on the outside of my left foot. I was on crutches for a couple of weeks and it took over a year to heal.
When I was 28 I fell off of my neighbor's front porch recreating the college accident. This time I broke a bone in my left foot instead of retearing ligaments. I was in a walking cast (no crutches!) and it only took three weeks to heal.
When I was 30 I slipped on a muddy sidewalk at my apartment complex and broke my left elbow. No cast that time. Just a sling. But it sure did make it hard to write and I had just started grad school that month. It was summer and my atmospheric dynamics teacher took pity on me. Since I couldn't write she gave us all multiple choice tests that semester instead of making us solve complex problems. My classmates loved me!
I've now managed to go 19 years without breaking anything. This post will probably jinx that. 8:-)
How are you celebrating the 4th of July?
Well, because of all the time already taken away from sewing this week I'm working today. If you can call sewing quilt blocks together while watching listening to Alfred Hitchcock movies on TV working. Yesterday while I was doing my platelet donation I got two free tickets to tonight's baseball game so we'll be going to that this evening. After the game is over there will be a huge fireworks display (one of the largest in the city) at the ballpark. We'll have prime seats for the event. Tomorrow is Jonah's birthday party (his birthday isn't actually until the 27th, but his other grandmother is in town this weekend) and on Sunday we'll be going to Claire's birthday party (though her birthday is actually today).
What's your favorite song with "America" or "USA" in the title? Bonus points if you share it with us.
Out of anyone in your address book, with whom would you most like to have lunch today?
John, Gary, Todd, Pam, Wendi....
What is your personal motto?
Everything in moderation.
Really. Everything. Even the really good stuff. Seriously. Too much of it and it stops being special. Haven't you ever noticed that?
