Well, I guess the Grammie sickness is really taking over. I got a bit carried away and baked cookies for Christmas this year. I know it's the Grammie sickness because I kept thinking that I needed to make sure the cookies are small so they will fit in Jonah's tiny little hands. Yes, I know he can't eat cookies this year, but he will be able to next year. This was a trial run. Even though I only baked 4 kinds I ended up with well over 20 dozen because of the size.
My sweet little baby is getting so big! We had a good time this evening.
OK, I promised it so here it is. Jonah hated the thing and I can't say I blame him. He looks like Baby Bop. I was embarrassed for him. He wore it just long enough for me to snap this picture and then off it came. He was quite happy the rest of the evening. Really.
Today is my first day of hanging out with Jonah. I promised my step daughter that I would babysit the second Thursday of every month. I was just a bit nervous coming into the day as the last time I babysat for someone this small was for my nephew who will be 22 in December. So far we're doing just fine. Jonah wasn't the least bit concerned about being left alone with me. Guess all those hours of holding him in the hospital paid off. I smell right. The cats aren't too thrilled that he's here. It's really messing up their napping routine.
Jonah came over for his first dinner last night. We had a very nice time. He's 18 days old now and doing very well. I had a long conversation with him about all the fun things we'll do together when he gets a little older:
1) We'll go to the zoo, the science museum, the dinosaur museum, etc.
2) We'll read together.
3) I'll teach him to cook and to sew.
4) Grandpa will teach him how to build things.
5) Grandpa will teach him how to shoot and hunt (but only if he really wants to learn).
6) We'll teach him to think that fruits and vegetables are great treats to be begged for when he comes to visit (I would have preferred to teach him that sugar is the big treat, but I know his parents too well for that.).
We're going to have lots of fun together.
