lol. it is freaking hot here too. ugh
Wow! That's just way tooooooo hot!! I'm assuming you have some air conditioning and not a lot of humidity.

Our house has a flat roof and it has black tar on it - upstairs is always about 20 degrees warmer than down. When it gets humid here the a/c doesn't seem to help much - though I doubt it has ever reached 109 ......

We have excellent air conditioning (AC is not optional in my book). Sadly, we also have humidity. In fact, a quick check of the NWS shows that this morning you and I are at roughly the same temp, but our humidity is much much higher. And we just had a cold front come through overnight! I hate summer.
I hate summer too - a hate more intense than my hate of winter! :-)

So far we have had a really wet spring and temps and humidity have not been too bad this first week of summer.

No, they haven't. Your humidity is normally higher than ours. I was a bit surprised to see it lower this morning. Lucky you!

Winter does have its downsides, but overall I like it. Of course, we don't normally get that much ice and snow during winter. And the sun shines more often than not.

I have heard of physics majors trying to pinpoint the exact temperature of pizza sauce. Despite the relative cool looking remperature of the cheese, the sauce can maintain magma-like qualities for up to half an hour after removal form the oven. LOL

Ouchie...

You're telling me! I had already taken a couple of bites from that slice with no ill effects when a piece of pepperoni slid off and dropped and dollop of sauce on my lip. Dang that hurt (and still does)!
Coming from Chicago, I'm a pizza veteran and bear many scars on the roof of my mouth, tongue and lips. I definitely feel your pain. Problem is, you get lulled into the relative safety by the cheese. It looks cool enough to eat. It's siren smell draws you in...
Mmmm.....Chicago pizza. I haven't had any in years. Which place is your favorite?
I actually grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and had a favorite out there. My chain favorite was Rosati's, which I have the good fortune of having here in Kansas City of all places. There was a place out by Northern Illinois University called The Spot. Best ever whole wheat crust pan pizza. Even beat my local favorite. I think I ate a whole large pan pizza there myself. Mmmmm...
I went up to visit John while he was attending Northwestern. His favorite was Giordano's which he took me to straight from the airport. My ex-husband grew up in Palatine, but his favorite was Pizzeria Due (not to be confused with Uno). As I've eaten at each of them only one time (and haven't tried any others) I've yet to form a final opinion.
Rosati's looks similar, well, it is pizza after all. LOL. They offer really thin crust, regular crust, pan pizza and stuffed crust as well. All four at one place. Heaven..
